Canada is keeping its border with the U.S. closed to non-essential travel until at least November 21st due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the extension Monday on Twitter.
The border restrictions were first announced March 18th and have been extended every month since.

The North Country Chamber renewed its call for the U.S. and Canadian governments to draft a plan for the border’s eventual reopening. In a statement, President and CEO Garry Douglas said he does not expect the border to re-open before the end of the year but added recent comments by Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf at least gestures “toward a transition for the first time since March.”

Canada's Chief Public Health Officer said Monday that there have been 9,760 deaths since March and cases of COVID-19 are increasing.
