WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses the West's skepticism over Russia's overtures to ease tensions around Ukraine, President Joe Biden’s search to nominate a U.S. Supreme Court judge and the House committee investigating the January 6th insurrection.

Dr. Chartock also weighs in the settlement between the parents of the Sandy Hook school shooting and the guns maker Remington and the environmental impacts of climate change.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders.
