Over the course of August, daily case rates per 100,000 in the city almost tripled from around 10 at the beginning of the month to around 28 by the end. Now, with October days away, that figure remains around 27 daily cases per 100,000.
“Hospitalizations, we’ve seen a upward trend with that," Interim Director of Public Health Andy Cambi reported to the Pittsfield City Council Tuesday night. "We had lower numbers two weeks ago- Well, four weeks now. And then we've seen a rise in that. We've even had up to 14, between the 24th and the 25th. The ICU patients, they've remained low. Last time we were met, there were around three. We even had some days where there were zero patients there. So positive news.”
Pittsfield is currently reporting around 60 cases. The city has remained in the state’s “Yellow” category for transmission of the virus since early August.
