Officials in Troy, New York have announced a public meeting to discuss the future of a city dam.
The City of Troy plans a controlled deconstruction of a portion of the Mt. Ida Dam after a recent engineering review found changes in the “structural condition” of the dam.
A meeting to discuss the status of the rehabilitation work has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Troy Masonic Community Center at 39 Brunswick Road.
Officials say work on the dam will result in the lowering of water in the Poesten Kill creek north of the dam and in Ida Lake.
