Saratoga Springs Charter Review Forum Moved After Fire

The City of Saratoga Springs has moved a public forum on proposed changes to its governing document after a Friday night fire damaged a portion of the building.

A small fire caused by a lightning strike was quickly extinguished but portions of the city hall sustained smoke and water damage.

The office of Mayor Meg Kelly says as damage assessment continues, Tuesday’s city council meeting has been moved to the Saratoga Springs City Center.

The meeting includes a public forum of the 2018 Charter Review Commission. Public hearings are scheduled to begin at 5:50 p.m.

After a charter change measure was narrowly defeated by voters last year, a new Charter Review Commission was formed to explore potential changes while preserving the city’s system of government.
