The New York state Transportation Department says lanes on the Twin Bridges carrying the Adirondack Northway over the Mohawk River will be reduced during nights for the next several weeks, starting Monday night, for resurfacing.

Through the middle of next week, northbound traffic on I-87 will be reduced from three to two lanes after evening rush hours, and will be reduced to a single lane overnight. Two lanes will be restored for northbound traffic by 6 a.m., with three lanes scheduled to be restored by 8 a.m. through Wednesday, and by 7 a.m. on Thursday. No resurfacing will occur on the bridge during Labor Day weekend from Friday through Tuesday morning. Resurfacing on the southbound bridge with similar closures is scheduled to begin the evening of September 7th. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
