Police from across the region, including members of the Canadian Royal Mounted Police, came to South Glens Falls today to remember New York State Trooper Timothy Pratt who died in the line of duty last week when he was struck by a car while helping a truck driver along a road in Saratoga County. At the funeral, his daughter Sarah Pratt said her father was her source of strength.

“My father is inside of me – this is his strength standing here speaking to you today,” Sarah Pratt said. “He is still protecting me and keeping me safe on the hardest day of entire my life. And he is inside each of you in my family and his family and will always be."

New York State Police Superintendent George Beach called Pratt the epitome of a trooper.

“Thank you for your service to the people of New York and thank you for a job well-done,” Beach said. “May God bless you and may you rest in peace.”

The 55-year-old Pratt, an Air Force veteran, worked as a road patrol trooper for most of his 30-year career.
