Troy Receives Grant To Bolster Fire Department

Troy Fire Department

Troy was awarded $972,000 in Federal aid through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s SAFE grant program.

The money will allow the city fire department to fill existing vacancies.

Troy mayor Patrick Madden thanked Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, and Congressman Paul Tonko for securing the award.

The senators also announced a $46,000 Homeland Security grant for the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Company in Schoharie County to purchase new equipment.
