Capital Region officials are pushing for a video lottery gaming facility at the Rensselaer site that was pitched last year as a potential location for a Hard Rock casino.
The riverfront property sits across from Albany and is located 20 miles from the site of the Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady and 35 miles from the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.
Capital District OTB president John Signor told the Times Union the project would generate $72 million in revenue and create 500 jobs.
The state legislature would need to approve the project.
