Earlier this month, a 20 member New York firefighting crew returned from Washington State, where it assisted in battling the Chiwaukum Creek Complex wildfire. The crew, comprised of DEC forest ragners, employees, and volunteers worked to contain the fires near Leavenworth, Washington for two weeks.
WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke with Josh Utberg, a firefighter from DEC’s Division of Remediation on his experiences in the Pacific Northwest.
