Plattsburgh, NY – The warnings have been out there for days, but as the impending storm moves closer to the region, officials want to make sure people are prepared. Plattsburgh Contractor James Jackson, a former Florida building inspector, says people need to take basic precautions, but not panic. NYS Emergency Management Spokesman Dennis Michalski adds people need to have a plan. American Red Cross of Northeastern NY Regional Spokesperson Caroline Boardman says people should be prepared to move to shelters and while all counties in upstate New York are on alert, there is particular concern for the Hudson Valley region. Clinton County Director of Emergency Services Eric Day notes a statewide service is available that can update and provide status reports thru-out the storm.
