The Hudson River has been the focal point of American life from the first American landscape seen as equal to the European masters to its importance as a trade route and commercial waterway. The 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage up the river has put the restoration of one bit of history on the fast track - but Hudson Valley bureau chief Susan Barnett reports another bit of the state's rail history could face demolition.
