Albany, NY – Last week Governor David Paterson signed Executive Order Number 25, taking a major step toward modernizing the State's regulatory framework and eliminating business regulations categorized as "onerous or outdated." Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.

The Governor's office says Executive Order Number 25 is a significant part of Paterson's broad agenda to reduce unnecessary burdens and mandates on local governments and businesses, eliminate waste and fraud in government, provide property tax relief to New Yorkers and stimulate the economy, but the initiative immediately came under fire from environmental advocates, who are calling on the Governor to "immediately rescind it."
