Albany, NY – The bottling and distribution industry fought the Bigger Better Bottle Bill tooth and nail. It was signed into law in April by Governor David Paterson, adding single-serving water bottles to the list of containers eligible for the nickel redemption. It also requires ALL eligible New York deposit containers to carry a universal product code label UNIQUE to the state. THAT rubbed bottlers the wrong way...
