Recession Hits Animals First

Hudson Valley, NY – The recession is affecting everyone...with foreclosures up, jobs down and food banks saying they're having trouble meeting increased demand. Animal advocates are under increased pressure from many fronts - more people are giving up their pets, fewer people are adopting, and New York's animal cruelty laws are hard to enforce. Hudson Valley bureau chief Susan Barnett reports.
