Ticonderoga, NY – Fort Ticonderoga, at the southern tip of Lake Champlain, was held by both the French and the British in its early history. It's now a popular tourist site. Before its grounds open to the public every summer, the Fort is host to scholars from around the world for a weekend of seminars on what some historians say is the first First World War. That's the French and Indian War, and Fort Ticonderoga was a major battlefield in that conflict. North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley met with some of the scholars at this year's War College of the Seven Years War.
