Albany, NY – A weekend of violence in downtown Albany has led some to suggest the incidents point toward a bigger crime problem in the city...
Three apparently unrelated stabbing incidents in two popular downtown Albany drinking areas and a hatchet attack took place a day after the city's first murder, where a young teen was shot in Arbor Hill. The news comes at a time when residents are bracing for the September opening of Albany High, where several violent incidents took place last school year. It also follows the release of a University at Albany study which shows the city's violent crime exceeding the National average
Albany Police Chief James Tuffey postponed a scheduled vacation so he could oversee the initial investigations. Capital District Bureau Chief Dave Lucas reports.
