The American Rescue Plan Act expanded health insurance affordability.

In Massachusetts, time is running out to take advantage of it.  An extended open enrollment period at the Massachusetts Health Connector ends on July 23rd.

State officials estimate there is an additional $600 million available to lower health insurance premiums.

There is also a zero-cost option for people who were unemployed for any length of time this year.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Audrey Gasteier, Health Connector Chief of Policy and Strategy.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
