A final vote on a proposed ordinance to give police in Springfield, Massachusetts another tool to crackdown on illegal dirt bikes has been delayed.
City Councilor Orlando Ramos had planned to seek final passage today of his proposal to ban the sale of gasoline to drivers of off-highway vehicles. But the votes has been delayed to give more time for service station owners to comment on the plan.
Ramos, who chairs the Public Safety Committee, said he now hopes to get final passage of the ordinance at the City Council meeting scheduled on July 19th.
WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Ramos about the change in plans.
