Second Progressive City Councilor Announces Mayoral Candidacy

A number of candidates are lining up in Burlington’s Town Meeting Day race for mayor.  A  city councilor formally announced Monday that he will seek the Progressive nomination.
Ward 3 Progressive Brian Pine served on the city council from 1991 to 1995 and was again elected to the council in 2018.  He began with a video formally announcing his candidacy.  “As mayor I will create a Burlington with a proactive agenda for social justice, environmental justice, and racial equity and inclusion.”

City Council President Progressive Max Tracy is also seeking the Progressive nomination.  Ward 7 Independent Ali Dieng is also running as incumbent Democrat Miro Weinberger seeks a fourth three-year term.  Town Meeting Day is March 3rd.
