Annual Connecticut River Cleanup Will Be Held Throughout September

The Connecticut River as it winds through Massachusetts

An annual volunteer cleanup of trash along the length of the Connecticut River in New England is being held this year.

But like so many things in this COVID-19 era it will be different from how it has been done in years past.

This year’s Source to Sea Cleanup organized by the Connecticut River Conservancy will take place throughout September, rather than the typical 2-day event.

WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with CRC Executive Director Andrew Fisk.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
