Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says a victory in the New Hampshire primary would put him on a path to capture the Democratic presidential nomination.
Sanders told a crowd Monday that he believes he has a strong chance of victory in NH as well as in the states that come next: Nevada, South Carolina and California. Sanders says he’s hoping for the largest voter turnout in the history of the primary.

Other candidates are downplaying the importance of the New Hampshire primary. Former Vice President Joe Biden and his campaign are saying he will perform strongly in the next contests regardless.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign has also declined to set expectations of victory.
