Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington has provided an update on a believed quadruple murder-suicide in the Town of Sheffield. Luke Karpinski is believed to have killed his wife Justine Wilbur and their three children before setting fire to their home on March 13th.

In a news release Friday evening, Harrington’s office says investigators detected the presence of liquid accelerants at the property, and that two 20-pound propane tanks were found on the upper floor of the home.

Wilbur’s body was found on the first floor with a traumatic injury. The bodies of Karpinski and the three children were found on the upper floor of the home.

An investigation with state agnecies is ongoing. The district attorney expects an update from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the near future.
