The longest-serving mayor of Chicopee, Massachusetts will not seek reelection.
WWLP-TV reports Richard Kos made the announcement Monday. The Republican says he plans to return to his law practice when his two-year term wraps up at the end of this year. Kos first served as Chicopee’s mayor from 1997 to 2004. He returned to office in 2013 and was re-elected in November 2017 when he ran unopposed.
The next mayoral election is set for November.
