Radio Play Kicks Off Norman Rockwell Museum’s New Youth Engagement Plan

Norman Rockwell Museum

Friday night, the Norman Rockwell Museum will stage a radio play based on artist Greg Manchess' book Above the Timberline. The book – about a son searching for his father in a futuristic winter wasteland – is currently on display at the museum. It will be brought to life on stage by eight Berkshire County high school students. The museum’s chief educator, Mary Berle, tells WAMC the event is part of a larger commitment to area youth.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
