Second Berkshire Pot Shop To Open In Pittsfield Tuesday

With sales starting in Great Barrington Friday, Berkshire County’s second recreational marijuana store is set to open Tuesday in Pittsfield.

Vice President of sales and marketing Linda Katz says Temescal Wellness has other dispensaries in New Hampshire, Maryland, and Massachusetts.

“We are in nine different municipalities – so that’s nine different sort of governing bodies that we deal with, and so it is very complex,” she told WAMC.

Pittsfield Police Chief Michael Wynn says “proper plans are in place to address both traffic and anticipated crowds.”

While doors open at 11 Tuesday morning, parking will be available at 10.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
