A national consumer group is again warning people about potentially dangerous toys as the holiday shopping season begins.
The Massachusetts chapter of the U.S. Public Interest Research Group released the 33rd annual Trouble in Toyland report at a news conference in Springfield.
This year’s report highlighted 15 toys that the consumer group claimed had high concentrations of unsafe chemicals or were potential choking hazards.
Six popular slime toys contained high levels of the chemical boron.

The Toy Association said many of the products identified in the consumer group’s report are not “toys.” It said all toys sold in the U.S. must be tested and certified compliant before reaching store shelves.
