On Tuesday, Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker announced that Berkshire Community College would receive $5.5 million to turn the first floor of its Field Administration building into a One Stop Student Success Center. The grant is a part of Baker’s 2019 Capital Investment Plan to invest $190 million in higher education in the commonwealth. Conceived in 2015, the goal of the center is to make the admission and enrollment process easier for students at the college’s Pittsfield campus. WAMC spoke with Adam Klepetar, BCC’s Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, he accepted the grant on behalf of the college during a ceremony at Westfield State University.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
