Western Massachusetts is planning to make a pitch for Amazon’s second headquarters.
Rick Sullivan, president of the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts, said the application to Amazon may include an across state lines partnership with Hartford.
"That was one of the reasons the "Knowledge Corridor" was created in the first place. It gives you that one million people that makes it metropolitan area of significant size, which is one of the requirements of the Amazon RFP," said Sullivan.
Amazon has invited so-called requests for proposals from municipalities anywhere that detail why they could be the home to a corporate headquarters with 50,000 high-income jobs.
Amazon denied a Bloomberg Business News report Wednesday that Boston is the leading contender for the new headquarters.
