Esty: Scientists Marching For Science Is A Big Deal

Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, a Democrat from Connecticut’s 5th House District, says scientists getting involved in protests this weekend is a big deal.

Esty, a member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, says the threat of funding cuts to significant science research is alarming.

“And I think we’re seeing for the first time in a very long time – perhaps not since the concerns about nuclear war really in the 60s – you are seeing engagement of scientists in the political process, which they generally really don’t want to get involved in but feel compelled to do so.”

March for Science protests are scheduled across the country with the largest in Washington D.C.
