11 Vermont Community Health Centers Share $840,000 In Grants

Vermont's 11 community health centers are receiving nearly $841,000 in federal grants.
The awards are Vermont's share of $100 million in nationwide grants for 1,304 health centers and include awards for health centers with the highest clinical outcomes and clinical improvement.

Independent U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders says the Health Centers now serve one in four Vermonters.

The centers provide services regardless of a person's ability to pay as well as people covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance, as well as those without insurance.

The Vermont grants range from just over $20,000 for the Battenkill Valley Health Center in Arlington to almost $140,000 for the Springfield Medical Care Systems.
