A number of environmental groups are hosting a presentation on the return of cougars to the Northeast in Pittsfield Saturday. Susan Morse is founder and science director of Keeping Track, which trains biologists, conservation planners and others to detect and monitor the status of selected wildlife species. Morse will lead the event at Berkshire Community College put on by the Trustees of Reservations, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the Berkshire Natural Resources Council and the Berkshire Environmental Action Team. Morse spoke with WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief Jim Levulis about the cougar’s return.
The event is free and open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at Berkshire Community College.
