Holyoke.org

Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse, who is running for a third two-year term, finished first in Tuesday's preliminary election.  Morse will face businessman Francis O'Connell in the November 3rd election.  Morse received 2,694  votes to O'Connell's 2,450.   Anthony Soto, a Holyoke city councilor, came in third with  1,145 votes and so will not appear on the November ballot.   Twenty-five percent of Holyoke's registered voters cast ballots in the preliminary election.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
