Governor-elect Charlie Baker has announced a series of stops meant to celebrate success across Massachusetts. He is set to be officially sworn in Thursday.Baker and lieutenant governor-elect Karyn Polito will make six stops on what they are calling their “Spotlight on Excellence” tour. On Friday the Republicans will visit the Worcester Polytechnic Institute followed by Saturday stops at MASS MoCA in North Adams and Pittsfield’s Soldier On facility.
Some western Massachusetts lawmakers felt slighted after only seven people from the four western counties were named to Baker’s 175-member transition committee. But, Baker appears to be following up a campaign message he delivered last January in Pittsfield.
“I can promise you this won’t be the last time you see me,” said Baker.
Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick did not seek a third term.
