UConn Bans 3 More Greek Organizations Over Hazing

wikipedia.org

The University of Connecticut has banned three more Greek organizations for hazing, saying students were forced to eat pet food, bob for mini-bottles of alcohol from toilets and be partly or fully nude.UConn said Tuesday it informed fraternity Sigma Chi and sororities Delta Gamma and Delta Zeta they will lose their chapter registrations, recognition and on-campus housing.

The student groups also were accused of serving alcohol to those younger than 21 or those already drunk. They may appeal.

Sigma Chi and Delta Zeta did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Delta Gamma said it's appealing. The sorority says it alerted administrators to the hazing and says it's inconsistent with its values.

Earlier this year, UConn banned the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma over hazing allegations.
