The Massachusetts Gaming Commission this week is expected to award the state’s first license for a resort casino.
The gaming industry regulators have scheduled a series of public meetings beginning Tuesday to evaluate and deliberate on MGM’s proposal for an $800 million casino in downtown Springfield. MGM is the only applicant for the sole license available in western Massachusetts. Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby has said he sees no impediments to MGM being offered the license.
" We have not seen any red flags yet."
The five-member commission is scheduled to meet in Springfield on Friday to vote to award the license.
