The city of Chicopee, Massachusetts will get a new, yet familiar, mayor on Monday.
Richard Kos, who served as mayor of Chicopee a decade ago, will be sworn in for a two-year term at an inauguration ceremony Monday morning at Elms College. Kos said his priorities are public safety improvements, infrastructure needs, education and job creation.
"You want a community that provides an educated workforce that attracts business and those businesses and employees want to locate in a community that is safe. So, they are all interconnected."
Kos was mayor of Chicopee from 1998 to 2004. He returns to office after defeating Mike Bissonnette who was seeking a fifth term as mayor.
