Mayor Says He Is Not Concerned About MGM Passing Massachusetts Casino Investigation

MGM Springfield

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is still conducting background investigations into several casino companies competing for licenses in the state

The difficulty of passing the background check in Massachusetts was underscored when Caesars Entertainment-one of the giants in the casino industry-was forced to pull out of the Suffolk Downs Racetrack project in Boston after the gaming commission’s investigation raised several red flags.  MGM, which wants to build a casino in Springfield, is still being scrutinized by state regulators.  Mayor Domenic Sarno says he’s not concerned.

Mohegan Sun, which has proposed a resort casino in Palmer, passed the background check in Massachusetts.
