A man has pleaded guilty to setting a series of fires over two years in a Northampton Massachusetts neighborhood including one fire that claimed two lives.
28 year old Anthony Baye will be sentenced on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to 48 criminal charges. Six houses were set ablaze on the night of December 27, 2009 including a home where Paul Yeskie Sr and his son, Paul Yeskie Jr . were killed . The prosecution is recommending he be sentenced to 19 to 20 years in prison followed by 15 years probation. The change in plea came a week after Baye’s jury trial started The case went to trial a year after the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled a videotaped confession could not be used as evidence because State Police had violated Baye’’s rights during a lengthy interrogation.
