Great Barrington, Ma – W.E.B. Dubois was a civil rights pioneer and a Great Barrington native. A new book by Amy Bass titled "Those About Him Remained Silent" explores the late 60's movement to commemorate him in his hometown. She says the small Berkshire town was at the center of a worldwide conversation about racism and the Cold War. Our Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz spoke with Bass about her book and why she felt it was so important to bring this matter to light .
