Albany, NY – Listener James McGrail of Marlboro, New York wrote in with this tale. While on a train in Orange County, he said, "a buck became entangled under the train (and) it took a long time to dislodge."

He goes on to say that the bodies of deer and smaller animals along state highways are upsetting and potentially unsanitary, before posing the question of how to better prevent road kill. Do we need more fences? Additional signage? Ultasound deterrent devices? Former New York State wildlife pathologist Ward Stone gives his take on the issue.
