Albany, NY – Neil Rice, a third-grade teacher at Catskill Elementary School, wrote to ask about a caterpillar his students found on the sidewalk during recess and, instead of squashing it, decided instead to try and learn more about it. The caterpillar, with a red horn and white does along its body, was identified by former New York State wildlife pathologist Ward Stone.
