U.S. lawmakers from the Hudson Valley have announced federal funding that will help a Westchester County-based organization combat human trafficking.

The nearly $750,000 U.S. Department of Justice grant will allow White Plains-based My Sisters’ Place to expand services that provide support to victims of human trafficking and raise public awareness. U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, along with Congresswoman Nita Lowey, say the funding will allow for the hire of two additional full-time staff members. They say the funding will help My Sisters’ Place to leverage various local, state and federal resources to provide an array of services for trafficking victims.
