The CEO of the company proposing a casino in Ulster County is gone from the position, for a second time.
Michael Treanor is leaving the post of CEO of Nevele Resort, Casino & Spa proposed for Wawarsing, but will stay on as CEO of Claremont Partners, Nevele’s parent company, focusing on other properties. Treanor had stepped aside at the beginning of May following a New York Post article reporting he had been accused of sexual assault in 2007. After an internal review, Treanor returned to the position three weeks later.
Now, Angelique Brunner will serve as Nevele CEO, to lead the project through the selection process later this year. Brunner will continue as president of investment firm EB5 Capital.
Brunner and her financial team are part of the project’s funding and, together with the institutional equity partner, will represent the project’s majority ownership.
