Former Nevele CEO's Address To County Legislature Is Canceled

A special informational session Tuesday evening in Ulster County during which the former Nevele Investors CEO was slated to speak, has been canceled.  WAMC's Allison Dunne has more.

Ulster County Legislative Chairman John Parete, in a released statement, says he has canceled the special session scheduled for this evening because in speaking with the minority leader, they are comforted that Nevele’s parent company moved swiftly to find a replacement for Michael Treanor and keep the proposed casino project for Ulster County on track. Treanor last week stepped aside as CEO of Nevele Investors, the same day an article in the New York Post reported that Treanor had been accused of sexually assaulting his sister in 2007. The Post reported that Treanor pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault. Parete also says the Ulster County Legislature will not let one man, one incident, or one mistake take away what so many have worked so hard for – the proposed Nevele Resort, Casino & Spa, the only proposed resort casino for Ulster County.
