HV Arts Council Changes Name, Goes On Tour

An arts organization in the Hudson Valley is painting over its name, and officials Tuesday morning are kicking off a three-county tour to let everyone know.

Arts Mid-Hudson will unveil its plans for a 50-week tour to 50 locations across Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties to introduce its new name and expanded service in the region.  Formerly known as the Dutchess County Arts Council, the new name reflects the incorporation of the two additional counties. Arts Mid-Hudson officials, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein, and others are slated to speak at Tuesday’s event at the Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie detailing the tour plans. The tour is also to celebrate the Dutchess County Arts Council’s Golden Anniversary. Democratic State Senator Terry Gipson, who represents most of Dutchess County, will present a Senate resolution commemorating this 50th anniversary.
