HVEDC Breakfast Event On 3D Printing Includes A New Initiative

An economic development agency in New York is hosting the first of its breakfast series events Thursday morning, and officials are expected to announce a new initiative.

The Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation is holding its first Next Big Thing Breakfast Series at the State University of New York at New Paltz. The topic at the sold-out event is 3D printing, and the major announcement in relation to this technology is expected from Sean Eldridge, president of Kingston-based Hudson River Ventures, a small business investment fund, and SUNY New Paltz President Donald Christian. Eldridge says 3D printing technology is an opportunity to bring high-paying jobs to the Hudson Valley and grow the local economy. Speakers at the breakfast include the vice president of marketing for Stratsys, a manufacturer of 3D printers and production systems, with dual headquarters in Minnesota and Israel.
