http://www.healthshow.org/ – In the 1990s, the US Food and Drug Administration claimed it had the authority to regulate tobacco as a drug. In 2000, the Supreme Court disagreed, saying the agency could not take such a step without Congressional authority. Cigarettes remained less regulated than cosmetics or pet food.
