40th Annual Strawberry Festival
The Mayfield Historical Society will be kicking off the summer season with its 40th Annual Strawberry Festival and premiering its new summer exhibit "School Days" on Saturday, June 10th, from noon to 4 pm at The Rice Homestead, 328 Riceville Road in Mayfield, NY. Live music will be provided by The Knox Gentlemen who perform classic rock, old country, and 50’s and 60’s music. Admission is free. Strawberry shortcake with ice cream and lemonade will be available for a donation of $5/$3 for children 8 and under. Free tours of the Rice Homestead will be given and the Loom Room, Mill Stone Garden, Heritage Flower Garden, and Oliver's Trail will be open for viewing and strolling. Along with the “School Days” Exhibit, the old Munsonville school house bell is now ensconced in a newly built belfry on the Homestead property and guests are encouraged to “ring the bell.” In the event of rain, the event will take place at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St. in Mayfield.
