Planning Underway For State Forest Land In Central New York

The state Department of Environmental Conservation is developing a management plan for more than 5,800 acres of state forest land.

The seven parcels of land are collectively known as the Mohawk Vista.

DEC is seeking public comment at its Herkimer office on recreation, forest management and other matters to develop a long-range vision and goals for management of these lands.

In addition to public input, DEC will use forest inventories and other sources of data and information to develop the Mohawk Vista management plan.
